Regent Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement for a new luxury hotel and residential development in Jakarta.
The Taiwanese hotel group will operate the new Regent Jakarta, which will open in early 2018 offering 126 rooms and suites and 107 Regent-branded residences.
The new property will form part of Mangkuluhur City, a mixed-use development in the centre of the Indonesian capital.
“As Regent Hotels & Resorts expands its global footprint, we continue to seek growth opportunities that align the right partners with good locations in gateway cities,” said Arjan De Boer, Regent’s senior vice president of development. “Regent Jakarta will reflect this combination and is an important milestone in the international growth strategy for the Regent brand.
“The re-introduction of the Regent in Jakarta gives us great pride and we are extremely excited about the future expansion of the brand in Indonesia,” he added.
The new property will offer a range of facilities, including two restaurants, a library bar, swimming pool and spa. It will also offer extensive conference and banqueting space, including a grand ballroom.
Regent currently operates seven luxury hotels and resorts in Asia, Europe and the Caribbean.
