The data park in Mucat recently welcomed Oman Air’s IT Disaster Recovery section.
The move will follow signing of an agreement between Oman Air and Oman Data Park (ODP). Under the agreement, ODP will be responsible for providing and managing secure data center infrastructure, including server racks, power, cooling, fire protection, physical security including biometric access, and other functions. Management and administration of the hosted IT remain under Oman Air IT Department’s supervision and control.
Oman Air’s chief executive officer, Paul Gregorowitsch said: “By moving this essential infrastructure from its current location to ODP, we are better able to ensure business continuity in the event of a crisis. In addition, this partnership will allow us to accelerate IT improvements and developments.”
Oman Data Park is a joint venture company owned by Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and 4-Trust, a part of National Trading Company.
