The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced two new South African hotels, including one in Cape Town and one in the world famous Kruger National Park. The Radisson Blu Safari Resort Kruger Park is scheduled to welcome its first guests in 2013 and will be located within the southern border of the Kruger National Park, along the famous Crocodile River 10 kilometres from the Malelane Gate. “This hotel will be the first internationally branded hotel within Kruger, and will clearly strengthen the Radisson Blu brand in South Africa”, said Rezidor’s president and CEO Kurt Ritter. “At the same time, it adds a new segment to our successful Radisson Blu portfolio: we manage city and business hotels, airport properties, beach and ski resorts, and are delighted to now announce our very first safari resort.” Meanwhile, the 120-room Park Inn Cape Town Foreshore is scheduled to open towards the end of next year. “We are excited to bring it to Cape Town now on the back of the Sandton property which opened in Johannesburg earlier this year,” said Andrew McLachlan, Rezidor’s South African based vice-president for regional business development. The new hotel - a conversion of an existing office building - will be situated on Heerengracht Street in the Foreshore precinct of Cape Town’s central business district.
