European hospitality company, the Rezidor Hotel Group, plans to bring its mid-range Park Inn brand to the UAE, as the global economic slowdown hits demand for high-end accommodation, The National has reported.
Rezidor is about to open its first Park Inn in the UAE on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, in time for the Formula One Grand Prix in November. And now the group’s Vice President for the Middle East, Marko Hytonen, has been reported saying that the brand’s roll-out will continue into Dubai.
“We are negotiating, we have a project under business development and it will definitely fit very well into Dubai,” Hytonen was quoted saying.
Others operators have already started to tap into the growing demand for budget and mid-range hotels in Dubai. Accor last month opened its third ibis hotel in the city, while the region’s first easyHotel is due to open in Jebel Ali. in September.
Hytonen added that his group planned to add another 5,000 rooms in the Middle East in the next five years, having recently announced the launch of its Radisson Blu brand in Dubai. The Park Inn and Radisson Blu hotels in Abu Dhabi will open in late September, early October next year, the report said.
