Rollercoaster riders at a Shanghai theme park were left hanging for around 30 minutes on Monday after a ride malfunctioned. The Shanghai Daily reported that 25 unlucky passengers were marooned 60 metres above the ground when the Diving Coaster ride broke down at the Happy Valley theme park in Songjiang. They eventually had to use an emergency stairway to get down. The park’s management was reported saying that cold weather may have triggered the malfunction.
