Ritz-Carlton has opened its first hotel in India.
Located in the centre of Bengaluru, the Ritz-Carlton Bangalore is a 277-room luxury hotel designed in a traditional style, with Indian architectural features including pointed archways, white marble walls and Jaali (lattice screens). The property also houses 1,280 pieces of contemporary art.
“We are redefining the international standard for luxury hospitality in India with a truly unique property in Bangalore,” said Herve Humler, Ritz-Carlton’s president and chief operating officer.
“The hotel will bring our Ritz-Carlton service philosophy to life in this magical country, and blend it with traditional Indian hospitality to create memorable experiences for our guests. Our first hotel in India underlines our commitment to the Indian people who have long been supporters of our hotels overseas,” he added.
Facilities at the Ritz-Carlton Bangalore include a spa, fitness centre with Technogym equipment, and an outdoor swimming pool with poolside lounge and bar. There are also seven F&B venues, including the three-level Lantern Chinese restaurant, The Market all-day dining outlet which offers private rooms, and an Indian fine dining restaurant, Riwaz, plus the city’s highest rooftop bar and sky lounge, Bang.
For the corporate and events market, the hotel also features a 600m² ballroom, a boardroom and three function rooms.
The move into India follows Ritz-Carlton’s recent expansion in China, where it has opened two new hotels – in Tianjin and Chengdu – in the last few months.
