Ritz-Carlton has unveiled plans to launch a second hotel in Bali, located in the island’s cultural centre, Ubud.
Scheduled to open in 2015, the new hotel will be set among hills along the Ayung River, with views of Bali’s terraced rice paddy fields. It will operate under Ritz-Carlton’s ultra-luxury ‘Reserve’ label.
The announcement of the new Ubud property follows the recent unveiling of a new Ritz-Carlton beach resort, which is set to open in Nusa Dua next year.
“We are delighted to announce another exclusive Reserve project to the hand-selected portfolio. Bali is a well-established destination for luxury travellers and we are confident that our resort in Ubud will raise the bar for style, service, and quality in the area,” said Herve Humler, Ritz-Carlton’s president & chief operating officer.
The Ubud property will have 60 villas and suites surrounded by tropical gardens, plus a spa and two swimming pools. Guests will be served by a team of personal butlers.
Ritz-Carlton currently operates 84 hotels worldwide but only two of these are Reserve properties – Phulay Bay in Thailand and Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico.
