Ritz-Carlton has revealed that it will open its first hotel in Chengdu in summer 2013.
The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu will be located in the Sichuan capital’s Tianfu Square commercial district. It will have 353 rooms, including 55 suites, along with three restaurants, an indoor swimming pool and spa facilities. The hotel will also feature more than 1,700m² of meeting space, including two ballrooms and seven meeting rooms.
“China is already one of our most significant international markets. The opening of The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu sees the company continue on a path that will double its China footprint in the next three years,” said Herve Humler, Ritz-Carlton’s president & chief operations officer. “The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu will be a new beacon of luxury hospitality in southwest China.”
The Chendgu property will become Ritz-Carlton’s 10th in China, and its first in the west of the country. The company has already announced plans to debut in Tianjin in 2013.
