Turkish hotel company, Rixos, has announced plans to expand their brand in Asia. Speaking to reporters at ITB Asia in Singapore, Rixos’ Corporate Communications & PR Manager, Tunc Tuzcu, outlined the group’s plans to open its first Southeast Asia property in Khao Lak, Thailand. The 298-room Rixos Khao Lak is due to open before the end of 2008, offering the area’s first all-inclusive luxury resort.
Referring to Rixos’ all-inclusive product, Tuzcu said; “This concept was very successful (in Turkey) because it was done in the right way. Our motto is ‘all inclusive, all exclusive.” Tuzcu added that the group has moved away from the traditional all-inclusive model and would offer guests a variety of a la carte dining options and in-room dining as part of the total package.
As well as the Khao Lak resort, Rixos will open the Ottoman Palace by Rixos luxury resort on the Palm Jumeirah in Q2 2009, shortly followed by the Rixos Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Almaty property will be Rixos’ second hotel in the central Asian state, following its launch in the capital, Astana.
In total Rixos plans 15 new hotels over the next 2 years, including two more Dubai properties to be located on The World project, and the second Palm development. A hotel in Bahrain is also due to open in 2010. The Maldives and India are also being considered, although Rixos stressed that no deals have yet been finalised.
