Royal Jordanian recently replaced its Airbus A340s with the new Dreamliners 787 aircraft. The airline deployed the new aircraft on its North American route.
On 1 Dec. 2014, the 787 landed in Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) further taking off to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). The airline also used the 787 to service the Chicago and New York routes last month.
RJ acting president/CEO Captain Haitham Misto said: “Traffic to US and Canada makes up a big part of overall operations. It is basically focused to transport Arabs, members of these two countries’ communities, and students, as well as businessmen and transit passengers.”
RJ connects Amman directly with Chicago with five weekly flights, and to New York with four weekly flights. Montreal and Detroit are served twice weekly. The frequency of flights to the North American destinations will increase in the summer season.
The airline will start receiving rest of the ordered Dreamliners at the beginning of 2016, throughout the following few years.
