Royal Caribbean‘s newest Australia-based ship, Explorer of the Seas, has emerged from a multi-million-dollar, six-week renovation.
The project, which Royal Caribbean said was once of the biggest it has ever undertaken, has seen the Voyager Class ship equipped with a range of new amenities, including a surfing simulator, new cabin concepts, three new restaurants and refurbished public areas.
“Royal Caribbean International has always – and continues to – bring the largest, newest and most feature packed ships to Australia. We are thrilled to have a second, newly revitalised Voyager Class ship sailing locally this year with incredible features and amenities that you will only find on a Royal Caribbean cruise,” said Sean Treacy, commercial director of Royal Caribbean Asia Pacific.
“We are committed to giving our Australian guests the very best when they sail with us. That’s why we have invested over US$300 million over the last few years revitalising our entire Australian fleet to ensure our guests have the newest and most imaginative ships on their doorstep.”
Explorer of the Seas will arrive in Australia in November 2015 for a series of cruises to ports in Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific and Asia.
It will be joined in Australian waters by Voyager of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas and Legend of the Seas, with the brand new Ovation of the Seas due to follow in December 2016.
