Royal Caribbean unveils Hero of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has announced the launch of Hero of the Seas, the fourth ship in its Icon Class, set to arrive in Miami in August 2027. This new vessel promises to elevate family holidays with its innovative features, including nine pools, 28 dining venues, and unique accommodations like the three-storey Ultimate Family Treehouse.

Hero of the Seas is designed to offer a diverse range of experiences, combining elements of beach retreats, resort escapes, and theme park thrills. Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean, stated, “Icon Class truly set a new standard for family holidays, and Hero of the Seas takes that vision even further.”

The ship will feature the most pools at sea, including family-friendly spaces and adults-only options. Highlights include Coconut Cove, a Caribbean-inspired pool with in-water loungers, and The Hideaway, featuring the largest swim-up bar at sea. Adventure seekers can enjoy the Category 6 waterpark, which boasts the first funnel raft slide at sea, and the Crown’s Edge skywalk and zip line experience.

Dining options are equally impressive, with 28 venues offering a variety of cuisines. The Orleans Parish Supper Club will provide a multi-course dining experience with live jazz, whilst the Royal Railway – Hero Station offers an immersive dining journey. Families can also participate in cooking classes in the Surfside neighbourhood.

Hero of the Seas will embark on seven-night Caribbean cruises from Miami, visiting destinations such as Roatan, Honduras, and St. Maarten. Bookings are now open on Royal Caribbean’s website
