The Dubai Ferry has a new offering with the smart tourist guide aptly titled ‘Nahaam’. This new initiative was launched by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA). The guide takes travellers through a commentary on the key landmarks of the city.
Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency, said: “The tourist guide is a system displayed on board the Dubai Ferry screens showcasing tourist landmarks using GPS based display. We have branded this initiative as Nahaam – a name of an antique heritage practice once prevailed in the UAE.”
The RTA also announced its intent to provide heritage-inspired names to services offered. This is being done to reinvigorate and revive the past history of the country. Four ferry boats have been fitted with the Nahaam system.
