Flight operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport were severely affected yesterday, due to the closure of the main runway, waterlogging at the new Terminal 1C and a power cut. According to an Economic Times report, most flights were delayed by 1-1.5 hours. Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) said that the main runway was closed for 50 minutes yesterday morning to clear glass from the runway, after a runway flight has broken by a departing aircraft. Heavy rains also caused the terminal to flood, although it is not clear whether this was related to the power cut.
