Rush hour surcharge plan for Shanghai taxis

Shanghai may change its late-night taxi surcharge to include rush hour periods, Shanghai Daily has reported. Tu Haiming, of the Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, proposed the change saying the night time surcharge needed to be reduced to encourage late-night passengers and improve business for taxi drivers, and that it would better employed in the busy peak time period.
