Irish budget airlinr Ryanair has apologised for refusing to refund the ticket of Beryl Parsons who died four months before she was due to fly with the carrier.
Parson’s family were told that the ticket would not be refunded because she had not died within 28 days of travel, which the company’s terms and conditions stipulate.
However once her son Doug threatened to take the urn onto the plane with him, an apology was given with a full refund reported the Daily Mail.
The family, who had already been forced to cancel a holiday because of her health, booked another trip when the 78-year olds condition improved.
Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said today: “Ryanair has already written to Mr Parsons, apologising for the incorrect reply he received on 6th August from our Customer Services Department.
“He was entitled to a full refund, and this has now been sent to him, with our sincere apologies for the incorrect letter and inconvenience caused to him and his family.”
