A group of pilots at Irish low cost carrier Ryanair are performing a protest against the “draconian” management style of the company’s bosses, the Independent has reported.
The company’s disgruntled staff members are wearing badges from the banned pilots’ union, Ryanair Pilots Group (RPG) as a mark of how unhappy they are over the company’s management style.
However, according to the British paper, the company has now issued a warning saying that anyone caught wearing a badge will undergo disciplinary measures.
The union claims that over 50% of the firm’s pilots and first officers are members of the union however it has never been recognised by the company.
Peter Bellow, Ryanair’s deputy director of flight operations commented: “Items of uniform or badges displaying unapproved logos are not permitted while on duty. Breaches of this policy will be dealt with through the Ryanair disciplinary procedures and may result in travel being denied or a no-show being issued.”
