Ryanair has unveiled a new family product offering discounts and an ‘improved service’ on its flights for family groups.
Named Ryanair Family Extra, the new option means adults can book reduced infant fees and have a free 5kg infant bag allowance as well as two free piece of infant equipment in the hold.
Parents will also be able to bring a car seat on flights when a seat is booked, with 50% discounts available on allocated children’s seats, check-in bags for children and priority boarding.
A Fly & Save bonus is also available offering 20% a third flight after two initial flight bookings.
“As part of our Always Getting Better programme and our commitment to the continued improvement of our customer experience, Ryanair is delighted to launch Ryanair Family Extra, offering families a great range of discounts and an improved service for those travelling with children,” said the airline’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs.
The Irish carrier commenced initiatives to improve its customer service late last year after seeing its profits dip and has since introduced allocated seating, a second free carry-on bag, a new website and GDS partnerships. An app and mobile boarding passes will be available from July. A new business product is also due to be launched this year.
