Safar Travel, Union National Bank ink MoU

Al Fahim Group’s travel division, Safar Travel & Tourism recently announced a partnership with Union National Bank.
The company witnessed a 100% increase in hotel sales in the first two months of 2013 compared to 2011, a 32% surge in visitors to tropical destinations from Abu Dhabi in 2012 compared to 2011, as well as a 15% increase of tourists to South Africa in the same period.
The partnership offers UNB customers with special benefits and added value. The signing of the MoU was attended by Talal Abdulla Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, CEO Tourism & Industrial Development, Mohammed Abdulla Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, General Manager of Products and Services; from Union National Bank, Ashraf Mohamed Bibars, Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking Group; Hazel Saldanha, Marketing, Public Relations & Customer Service Manager of UAE & Gulf, Swiss International Airlines, Ambarish Mukherjee, Marketing and Sales Manager of UAE & Oman, Cathay Pacific Airways, Ziad Najjar, Abu Dhabi Manager of Middle East Airlines.
During the signing, Safar Travels discussed new trends in the tourism market such as a notable increase of certain nationalities coming visiting UAE. This includes countries such as Japanese, Chinese, Russian and American. Additionally, Safar has booked more flights for customers to Sri Lanka, Spain and Vietnam in 2012 than the year before. On a futuristic note, Safar continues to expect a gradual increase in visitors from Abu Dhabi to Spain, Portugal, Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius. Furthermore, cruises are gaining more popularity due to the high quality of infrastructure put into operation in this region.
