Saudi tourists spend most overseas

Saudi Arabia spends more on tourism overseas than any other GCC country, World Bank statistics have revealed.
Tourists from the kingdom spent $21.1 billion in 2014, the most recent figures from the World Bank show.
Meanwhile, tourists from the UAE spent $17.7 billion; Qatar spent 12.87 billion and Kuwait spent $12.28 billion.
Tourists from Oman spent $2.3 billion overseas and Bahrain spent $864 million.
Saudi Arabia ranked among the top 20 countries in the world for overseas tourism spend, according to the World Bank.
However, the kingdom fell behind Qatar and the UAE when it came to revenue from inbound tourism.
The figures showed that the UAE earned $14 billion a year, followed by Qatar, with $10.6 billion, and Saudi Arabia with $9.3 billion.
Of all countries in the Arab world, Egypt followed with $8 billion of tourism receipts, Jordan with $5.5 billion and Tunisia with $3 billion.
