Scoot launches in-flight streaming
Singapore-based low-cost carrier, Scoot, has unveiled a new in-flight entertainment option that enables passengers to stream content to their mobile devices.
ScooTV, as the service will be known, will offer a range of movies and TV shows that passengers can stream to their own laptop or tablet during flight. Content will be updated every other month. The service is free in ScootBiz, the airline’s premium economy-type cabin, with prices starting from SG$15 (US$12) in economy class. Passengers without their own devices can also rent tablets while in-flight.
“Scoot is excited to be the first airline in Asia to offer this innovative in-flight entertainment option. Going wireless keeps our aircraft lighter, our costs down and our fares cheaper. And better yet, ScooTV empowers our guests with even more entertainment options,” said Scoot’s CEO, Campbell Wilson.
In addition to ScooTV, the airline has also announced the launch of a new range of in-flight meal options. The new ‘Premium Selection’ meals, which include a main dish plus a drink and two side options, tailored to suit each route.
