Scoot to fly to Nanjing
Scoot has announced the latest stage in its Chinese expansion plan, with the addition of flights to Nanjing.
From 3 June 2013 the Singapore-based airline will launched three weekly flights to the eastern Chinese city, running every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights will be operated using Scoot’s 402-seat, two-class Boeing 777-200.
“Scoot is delighted to provide the first low-cost link from Singapore to Nanjing, the fourth Chinese destination in our fast-growing network,” said Scoot’s CEO, Campbell Wilson. “Nanjing, with a population of over eight million, is one of China’s four ancient capitals… [and] remains one of the country’s most important and historical cities.”
The capital of Jiangsu province, Nanjing becomes Scoot’s 11th destination and its fourth in China, following Qingdao, Shenyang and Tianjin.
