The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to boost its domestic tourism.
In light of this void, Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) recently inked an agreement with Saleh Al-Jasser, director general, Saudi Arabian Airlines. The agreement was signed to meet the growing demand in domestic tourism and set the plan for summer vacation in 2015.
Prince Sultan said the meeting dealt with mechanisms of how to address the future vision to keep up with expansion of national tourism. It also dealt with need for the national carrier to organize programs designed for the sector that has a vital role in economic growth and job creation. There would also be an opportunity for local products to be sold through the airline’s outlets.
Under the MoU, the two parties will activate an ongoing study and cooperation to determine current and future needs of local destinations, and organize internal flight schedules based on the airline’s potential and capacity. They will also implement a jointly plan to hold exhibitions and conferences.
