The importance of public private partnership (PPP) was keenly emphasised by HE Mohamed Ali Al Noman, chairman, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA). He underscored the importance of the PPP initiative in the tourism sector, saying that such a partnership has already contributed to development of Sharjah and strengthened its position in the region.
Al Noman was visiting the newly opened ’72 by Hues’ in Sharjah. He was welcomed by Mahmoud Hamza, chief executive of the hotel.
“The new hotel blends in well with the new development around Sharjah. This is in tune with growing number of tourist arrivals and host of special events and activities. These factors have significantly increased hotel occupancy rate in the Emirate. While hotel occupancy rate shot up above 70% in the first quarter of this year, it had crossed more than 90% during special events like Sharjah Light Festival,” added Al Noman.
The ’72 By Hues’ is the first five-star boutique hotel catering to both business and leisure travellers. The hotel boasts Equation that offers private dining and authentic Arabic and international cuisine. There is also a coffee shop Quadrant, Eclipse Spa treatment, Radical indoor heated pool, business center and four meeting rooms.
Al Noman concluded saying: “A number of new and outstanding tourism and hospitality projects are part of the Emirate’s strategic plan and vision for the industry. This will be announced in the next phase of development.”
