Wyndham Hotel Group’s Southeast Asian expansion plans have taken a major step forward with the signing of agreements for seven new properties in the region.

The new deals, which were revealed at ITB Asia in Singapore this week, will see new Wyndham, Ramada and Days Inn hotels open in key tourist areas in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

“Southeast Asia is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination with an estimated 100 million visitors annually,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia & Pacific Rim.

“With visitor numbers continuing to rise, we have our sights set on growing our presence to meet this demand over the coming years. We know our range of globally recognised brands will offer the utmost in value and services to meet the needs of today’s travellers in Southeast Asia.

“These new deals demonstrate our commitment to working with respected hotel developers and management companies in the region. We look forward to building on the strong relationships we have formed with our partners well into the future,” he added.

Five of the newly-signed properties will be located in Thailand, including the Days Inn Rest Sea Jomtien Beach Pattaya, Days Inn Siam Central Pattaya, Days Inn Patong Beach Phuket, Ramada Suites Wong Amat Pattaya and Ramada ChaoFa Phuket.

In Malaysia, Ramada Resort Lumut will be located in the state of Perak, close to Pangkor Island, and finally the Wyndham Legend Ha Long will become the first internationally-branded five-star resort in Halong Bay, the Vietnamese UNESCO World Heritage site.

These seven new properties add to the 26 Southeast Asian hotels already signed by Wyndham this year. Wyndham now has more than 60 hotels open and operating in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim, with a further 60 in the pipeline.
