Shangri-La has unveiled a new range of rooms and suites in Penang, following a major renovation.
The Garden Wing at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa recently underwent a MYR32 million (US$8.9m) upgrade, involving major changes to 189 rooms.
Designed to feel “fresh, contemporary, spacious and airy”, the new rooms feature floor tiles rather than carpets, plus new two-seat sofas that convert into sofa beds. Rooms have also been fitted with LED lights and energy-saving initiatives, including air conditioning that switches off when the balcony doors are open.
The renovation has also seen the addition of several family rooms, which range from 42 to 105m².
“We are very excited and confident that the renovations will herald in a new level of comfort and service that travellers have come to expect of Shangri-La,” said Suleiman Tunku Abdul Rahman, director of communications. “The scale of this renovation shows our commitment to maintain the hotel’s reputation for providing excellent services and being at the forefront of hospitality in Penang and Malaysia.”
Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa is split into two wings – the Garden Wing and Rasa Wing.
