Sharjah targets the Russia market

Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority will tap into Russia market with its participation at the 15th Moscow International Travel and Tourism (MITT) fair. The event opens up avenues to tap the growing Russian tourist market.
Led by Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority , the Sharjah delegation to Moscow includes senior Sharjah government officials and representatives of Sharjah’s tourism and hospitality sectors including Sharjah Airport Authority, Shurooq (Sharjah Investment and Development Authority), Air Arabia, Al Hasawi Group Of Hotels, Radisson Blu, Hilton Sharjah, Oceanic Resort and Spa Khorfakkan, Al Khalidiah Tourism, 72 Hotels, Al Ghazal Tours and Copthorne Hotel.
The Authority has reported positive results directly contributing to a significant increase in number of Russian tourists in the Emirate. Sharjah received more than 459,000 tourists from Russia during Year 2013, registering a remarkable 51% increase over the previous year when Sharjah received more than 305,000 Russian visitors.
The total share of Russian tourists in Sharjah’s tourism arrivals for 2013 stood at 23%, which reaffirms the growing presence of Sharjah’s tourism product in the Russian market, which has emerged as one of the major tourism exporting markets for the Emirate.
