Shenzhen mulls congestion charge

The southern Chinese city of Shenzhen is considering implementing a congestion charge for motorists in the city. Xinhua reported the city’s Traffic & Transport Commission as saying that the levy was among a series of measures under consideration designed to relieve traffic congestion in the city. Other options include increasing parking fees and opening up more bus routes. Shenzhen will also speed up construction of its Metro network.
