Starwood Hotels & Resorts has opened its second Sheraton in Jakarta.
The newly-constructed Sheraton Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel forms part of the Superblock Gandaria City complex, which also features a shopping mall, convention facilities, a helipad and several restaurants.
The upscale property offers 293 rooms and suites, a club lounge, three F&B outlets, a fitness centre and outdoor pool. MICE guests will also have access to more than 3,500m2 of function space.
“Indonesia continues to be a key growth market in Asia Pacific and is well-suited for the expansion of the iconic Sheraton brand,” said Charlie Dang, Starwood’s regional vice president for Southeast Asia. “The opening of Sheraton Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel will help meet the rising demand for high-calibre lodging generated by the influx of business and leisure travellers to Jakarta.”
The new property becomes Starwood’s fourth in Jakarta, following existing Sheraton, Le Meridien and Luxury Collection hotels. And the company will continue to expand in the Indonesian capital in the coming years, with plans for new Aloft, St Regis, Westin and W hotels in the city.
