Starwood Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel in Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province.
The opening of the Sheraton Wuhan Hankou Hotel marks the debut of the Sheraton brand in China’s central metropolis, and only the second Starwood property in the city following the existing Westin Wuhan Wuchang.
“With the region’s robust economic growth and rapid infrastructure development, there has been an increase in the demand for quality accommodations, and Sheraton Wuhan Hankou Hotel is well positioned to serve hospitality needs of upper-scale business and leisure travellers in Wuhan,” said Liu Zong, Starwood’s area managing director for West & central China.
“As the first Sheraton branded hotel in Wuhan, we are very excited to help connect guests in the region and provide them with the opportunity to enjoy our warm hospitality.”
Sheraton Wuhan Hankou is a large hotel, with 509 rooms and suites, plus an executive lounge on the 40th floor. Facilities include a ‘Link@Sheraton’ IT hub in the lobby, two restaurants, a bar, fitness centre, heated indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, a spa and kids’ club.
There is also extensive conference and banqueting space, with 15 meeting rooms totalling 2,191m² of floor space and a 1,046m² ballroom.
