SIA boosts Asian schedules

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is increasing the frequency of services to several points in Southeast Asia, North Asia, the Indian subcontinent during the Northern Winter operating season (30 October 2011-24 March 2012).
The airline’s Bangkok flights will rise from four to five per day, while services between Singapore and Tokyo Haneda will return to twice-daily from daily. Frequency on the Singapore-Osaka route will also increase, to 11 flights per week from 10. Guangzhou services will double to 14 flights per week, from seven.
SIA will also boost services to several destinations in South Asia, with frequency between Singapore and Mumbai rising to 17 flights per week from 14, and the number of Ahmedabad flights being boosted from two to three per week.
Services between Singapore and Istanbul meanwhile, will increase from four to six flight per week, subject to regulatory approval. Three of the flights will carry on to Athens. Elsewhere services to Cape Town, via Johannesburg, will rise to four per week from three.
