Singapore Airlines (SIA) will suspend half of its services to Tokyo’s Haneda airport from 27 March. In a statement on its website, the airline said that it would be dropping one of its two daily return services on the route, which it operates using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Flight SQ636 from Changi airport and the return service, SQ635 from Haneda will cease operating next week. Meanwhile, SIA has postponed the launch of its Airbus A380 services to Tokyo Narita until further notice. The airline had planned to commence superjumbo services on the route later this month, but due to deteriorating demand in the wake of the recent earthquake and tsunami, the route will continue to use a B747-400.
