SilkAir will launch flights between Singapore and Penang, Bernama reported the state’s government as saying. The low-cost carrier will operate twice daily services to the Malaysian hub from 1 June. The move comes as Singapore Airlines (SIA) cuts its services down from 18 per week to daily. The net result will mean the two carriers serve the route 21 times per week, an addition of three weekly flights.
