Singapore’s Naumi Hospitality will enter the New Zealand hotel market for the first time, following the acquisition of a property at Auckland Airport.
The company has entered into an agreement to acquire and manage the Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland Airport. The 193-room property will be renovated and rebranded as a Naumi hotel before opening in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The hotel will add to the existing Naumi and Naumi Liora boutique hotels in Singapore.
“This is a very exciting project for us. It will allow us to develop the boutique Naumi brand into a full-fledge millennial hospitality brand with different product concepts,” said Gaurang Jhunjhnuwala, director of Naumi Hospitality.
“With two award-winning hotels, Naumi Hotel and Naumi Liora in Singapore, this acquisition will be a big step forward and a testament to our group’s drive towards the growth of Naumi Hospitality into leading markets.”
The yet-to-be-named hotel will now close for an extensive renovation, with the new contemporary design concept reflecting the Naumi hotel concepts in Singapore. All rooms will have balconies, while those on the ground floor open up onto the gardens.
As well as being Naumi’s first international property, the Auckland hotel will become the brand’s first property to offer extensive meeting facilities, catering for groups of up to 200 people.
