Six Senses has unveiled plans to launch its first luxury resort in Oceania.
Scheduled to open in late 2017, the new Six Senses Fiji will be located on a beachfront site on Fiji’s Malolo Island. It will feature just 24 private pool villas ranging in size from 74 to 180m². The resort will also offer 66 residential villas, and a yacht marina will be located adjacent to the property.
In line with Six Senses’ environmental focus, the new resort will be 100% solar-powered. Reservoirs will be created to collect rainwater, and the project includes a reforestation site to offset the wood used in the resort’s construction. There will also be a worm-based septic system, LED lighting to improve energy efficiency, and an array of other energy, water and waste reduction initiatives.
Guests at the property will be able to dine on dishes made from ingredients sourced from the resort’s own garden, as well as local farmers, markets and fishermen. The resort will include a restaurant and bar plus a wine cellar and tasting table.
Six Senses is also developing a “multi-dimensional integrated wellness programme” for its guests in Fiji, which starts with a wellness assessment and creates a series of tailored treatments, therapies and activities that guests can undertake while staying at the resort.
Created in partnership with three doctors, including experts in sleep and nutrition, these personalised programmes can include spa treatments, exercise regimes, yoga and meditation sessions. Many of these treatments will be undertaken at the on-site Six Senses Spa and gym.
Alternatively, guests can relax on the 250-metre private sandy beach or partake in such activities as sailing, diving, snorkelling and tennis. A kids’ club is also available.
Six Senses Fiji will join the company’s existing portfolio of 11 Six Senses- and Evason-branded resorts in China, the Maldives, Oman, Portugal, the Seychelles, Thailand and Vietnam. The company also operates a global collection of spas.
