SkyTeam UAE keen to strengthen its presence in the region

SkyTeam UAE recently held quarterly workshop for agents in Dubai. The event which focused on enhancing their knowledge on SkyTeam offerings witnessed attendance from over 50 agents apart from SkyTeam member airlines. The workshop was educational and interactive providing agents with the much-needed information. Talking to Travel Daily Middle East on the sidelines of the workshop, Rayomand Kasad, Assistant Sales Manager, China Southern Airlines and SkyTeam UAE MCC member feels that SkyTeam has seen a large potential in this part of the world. The addition of Saudia and Middle East Airlines integrates the Middle East in the network and is the first step towards consolidation in this part of the world.
Elaborating on key initiatives lined up for the next year, Kasad added: “The new year will witness the launch our on-line Round the World booking tool, making it possible for customers to book their Round the World trip on-line. Furthermore, we will also revamp our SkyTeam Global Meetings and SkyTeam Global Contracts products, introducing more effective solutions to congress and event organizers as well as corporate accounts.”
The fast-growing alliance will also welcome Xiamen Airlines by November 2012 and Garuda Indonesia as a new member in 2014. Customer experience will be a key focus for 2013 in this regard the implementation of SkyPriority a series of priority airport services will be introduced for top customers. “We are already working on new initiatives to further enhance transfer experiences,” added Kasad.
On a concluding note, in an effort to offer superior travel experience SkyTeam has invested in its branded lounges starting with London Heathrow at Terminal 4 as well as lounges in Barcelona, Frankfurt and Narita in Japan. The future lounges would include the soon to be opened at Istanbul International Airport at the end of 2012.
