Sofitel So Singapore has opened its doors in the centre of the Lion City.
Housed within an 87-year-old building on Robinson Road, the new luxury hotel offers 134 rooms across two wings – the So Hip wing and So Heritage wing.
“We have developed a completely original concept for Singapore with the new Sofitel So Singapore and look forward to welcoming our international and local guests,” said the hotel’s GM, Tony Chisholm.
“With the promise of an excellent hospitality experience from Sofitel combined with the playful luxury of the ‘So’ label, we are confident that Sofitel So Singapore will be an industry benchmark for service, design, gastronomy and an immersive cultural experience of Singapore.”
Key features at the new hotel include a large hexagonal light installation in the lobby, a ‘bed-table’ in the restaurant and a gold-tiled rooftop pool with views of the city.
All rooms and suites at the new hotel come equipped with an Apple-based guest technology solution, including iPad minis to control all room functions and iPhones to call for hotel requests.
In terms of F&B, the hotel’s main restaurant, Xperience, offers three sizes of dish for tasting, personal eating and sharing, while the rooftop bar offers 360-degree views of Singapore’s skyline. The rooftop is also the setting for the hotel’s pool, which is lined by cabanas.
Sofitel So Singapore becomes the brand’s second hotel in Southeast Asia, following the Sofitel So Bangkok.
