Sokha launches major new MICE facility in Siem Reap

Cambodia’s Sokha Hotels & Resorts has unveiled a major new conference and exhibition space in Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat.
Located opposite the new 770-room Sokha Siem Reap Resort, which is due to open in September 2016, the Sokha Convention Center offers 8,950m² of floorspace backed up by state-of-the-art audio-visual technology.
The new MICE facility is also expected to be popular with meeting planners from Muslim countries, most notably ASEAN neighbours such as Malaysia and Indonesia, as it features a halal-certified kitchen that can cater for large-scale events.
“Sokha Convention Center now opens Siem Reap to global MICE opportunities. The demand from ASEAN member counties are can now be supported by a halal kitchen facility at the convention centre. This new facility is what the market has been asking for. Siem Reap has the real potential to become the new MICE destination in Asia,” stated Leena Rajagopal, director of sales for the Sokha Siem Reap Resort & Convention Center.
Sokha Hotels also manages convention facilities in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Kampot, as well as in Siem Reap.
