Spain has been named the top destination for a solo beach holiday this summer by UK solo travellers.

According to new data released by travel dating app and website TourBar.com, 23.5% of its UK members named the country as their top beach destination to visit alone this summer.

Following Spain’s lead, visits to Thailand were also popular with 14.2% of UK members naming the Southeast Asian country as their top beach destination for a solo visit.

A further 13.7% of solo travellers from the UK named the USA as their top beach destination with other popular beach destinations including Australia (11.5%), which secured the fourth most popular destination thanks to being home to over 10,000 beaches, and a seaside staycation at the UK’s coastal towns (10.7%) being the fifth most popular choice.
