SQ deal with Victoria

Under the deal both parties have committed tothe cooperative funding of programs to promote Victoria in major Asian marketsserved by the carrier, such as Japan, China, India and Singapore. SQ ceo ChewChoon Seng said the agreement “reinforces SQ’s commitment to promoting tourismto Australia.”SQ currently runs three daily services to Melbourneand accounts for one in seven international passenger movements at Melbourne Airport.
The airline also provides vitaltravel links between Melbourne and key marketsfunneled through its Singaporehub. Victorian Minister for Tourism, Tim Holding, said the agreement ispart of the State’s long term plan to grow international tourism. “Over thenext two years, a series of campaigns will be developed to increase Victoria’s profile as aholiday destination in the key Asian cities Singapore Airlines flies from,” hesaid.
Thenew deal complements SQ’s existing agreement with Tourism Australia for strategic cooperation to promote Australia.
