Sri Lanka has formally approved a five-year strategy to develop the tourism sector including domestic tourism as arrivals go up after a 30-year war, the government’s information office was reported saying.Lanka Business Online said the strategy addresses capacity and manpower requirements, infrastructure development, improving service standards, marketing and promotions, public relations, tourist safety and domestic tourism.It is estimated that the sector can create 500,000 direct and indirect job opportunities by 2016.
