MICHAEL SENGOL has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of Meritus Hotels & Resorts, barely a month after being appointed as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Sengol was previously COO of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc.
CRAWFORD RIX has been appointed Managing Director - Australia, for Tiger Airways. Rix, who is currently serving notice as Managing Director of UK low-cost carrier, bmibaby, will be relocating to Melbourne with his family.
CHRIS PHIPPS has been appointed as Oman Air’s new Regional Manager - Asia Pacific. Before joining Oman Air he was Regional Manager for Qatar Airways in Libya, and worked for British Airways for 11 years prior to that.
MAITHA AL MAHROUQI has been announced as Oman Air’s new Country Manager for Oman. An Omani national, Ms Al Mahrouqi started her airline career with Emirates, before moving to become Business Development Manager with Gulf Air.
YVONNE WAN has been appointed Hotel Manager of the St. Regis Bali Resort. A Malaysian national, Ms Wan has been with Starwood since 2002 working at both the Sheraton and Westin resorts in Langkawi.
STEFANO A. RUZZA has been named as the new General Manager of the Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort, the first Hilton resort in South Korea. A Swiss national, Ruzza joins from the Hilton Colombo in Sri Lanka, where he was Director of Operations.
JEAN-LUC DUCHEMIN has been announced as the new Executive Vice President of Global Human Resources for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. A French national, Duchemin was formerly Senior Vice President of HR for Philips Healthcare in the US.
ELS RAMADHINTA has been appointed as Director of Public Relations at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. Ms Ramadhinta transfers from Jakarta, where she had helmed the PR departments for both The Ritz-Carlton properties in the Indonesian capital.
BEVERLEY PARKER has been named as the new Director of Marketing at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. Ms Parker joined the hotel in July last year as Director of Sales. Prior to this she worked for the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
CARL SLADEN has been appointed Director of Sales at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. Sladen rejoins the hotel where he previously served as Sales Manager until 1999. The New Zealand national’s most recent assignment was at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo.
KARL HECHT has been announced as LAN Airlines’ new Sales Director for West Coast USA. Hecht was formerly the Chilean airline’s Sales Senior Manager Australia and New Zealand, based at the Asia Pacific Regional Office in Sydney.
GEEV ANDRE BAHRAMPOORI has been appointed as Director of Operations at the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa. Prior to joining Marriott, he served as Executive Assistant Manager of Food & Beverage at Amari Coral Beach Resort & Spa, Phuket.
CLIVE SCOTT has been named as Sofitel Australia’s new Area General Manager. Scott will continue in his current role as General Manager of the Sofitel Melbourne On Collins. This follows his appointment last year as Brand Champion for Sofitel in Australia.
TONY CHISHOLM has been announced as the new General Manager for Sofitel Brisbane Central, effective April 2010. Chisholm arrives in Australia from Vietnam where he was joint General Manager of the Sofitel Dalat Palace and Novotel Dalat.
JOSEF WOELFLE has been named as the new General Manager of the Swiss-Belhotel Changchun in Jilin, China. Woelfle has over 35 years’ hotel industry experience in China, South Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Switzerland and Germany.
MICHAEL NURBATLIAN has been announced as the new Sales Manager of the Indigo Pearl resort in Phuket. Nurbatlian, a Lebanese National joins the resort from the Millennium Resort Patong, where he served as E-commerce Executive.
