Starwood announces major developments in Manila
Starwood has announced plans to introduce its two largest brands, Westin and Sheraton, at two new multi-billion dollar integrated entertainment complexes in Manila which feature entertainment venues, luxury retail establishments and gaming facilities.
“We are thrilled to enter the vibrant, booming market in the Philippines, and believe there is ample demand for the Westin brand’s signature programs and amenities, as well as the Sheraton brand’s unique blend of hospitality, connectivity and comfort,” said Chuck Abbott, Starwood’s Regional Vice President for Southeast Asia;
“Resorts World Bayshore and Resorts World Manila are expected to be among the region’s preeminent entertainment destinations, and Starwood is pleased to have been selected by their respective owners to provide world class brands and services to visitors and guests.”
The Westin Manila Bayshore is scheduled to open in mid-2016 as part of the Resorts World Bayshore in the Entertainment City development in Parañaque, marking the brand’s re-entry into the Philippine market. All guestrooms and suites at this vast 600-key property will be outfitted with the restorative Westin Heavenly Bed, Heavenly Bath and Shower, and high-speed Internet access. Other offerings will include Westin’s signature SuperFoodsRX menu of nutrient-rich dishes, five diverse food and beverage venues, state-of-the-art WestinWORKOUT fitness facilities and swimming pool, Heavenly Spa, and 2,300 square meters of meeting and function space.
The Sheraton Manila Hotel is slated to open a year later in early 2017 as part of Resorts World Manila located in Newport City, Pasay. It will boast 350 stylish rooms equipped with an oversized work desk, custom-designed ergonomic chair, high speed Internet, flat panel television, and the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed. There will also be three dining venues, including an all-day restaurant, specialty restaurant, Lobby Lounge, 420 square meters of meeting space, a Club Lounge, a full service Shine Spa for Sheraton, swimming pool, and fully equipped fitness facilities.
These developments are a major boon for Starwood which is the region’s largest upper-upscale and luxury hotel company, with over 230 hotels currently operating in Asia Pacific and plans to reach 400 operating hotels in the region by 2016.
