Starwood Hotels & Resorts has launched its first Aloft Hotel in Guangzhou.
The new Aloft Guangzhou University Park opened recently, as part of the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center – a major new educational facility set on Xiaoguwei Island, in the Pearl River.
The modern hotel features 272 rooms, all with 42-inch LCD TVs and free Wi-Fi. There are also two restaurants, including a Chinese outlet with six private rooms, plus a 24-hour “grab & go” venue for light meals, drinks and snacks.
The facilities are completed by a bar, 24-hour fitness centre, indoor swimming pool and more than 500m² of meeting space.
“We are very excited to not only debut the Aloft brand in Guangzhou, but also make our mark as the first globally branded hotel in the area,” said Vincent Ong, Starwood’s senior brand director for Asia Pacific.
“We look forward to bringing to life the Aloft brand’s passion for live music, vibrant design-led initiatives and innovative new technology while becoming the centre of the social scene for the next generation of travellers.”
Starwood now operates 100 Aloft hotels open in 14 countries.
