Starwood kicks off ‘Global Sales Race’

Dubai, UAE, 11th October 2009 - Armed with a passion for life, signature experiences to share and beauty to be appreciated, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has inspiring stories to tell the world. With this in mind, the leading global hotel and leisure company embarked on its first global sales blitz by ‘flagging off’ its associates of over 6,000 enabling them to tell their stories through a portfolio of nine leading hotel brands. On the local front, over 60 associates from Starwood properties in Dubai will score the city this week from today to 15th October 2009, to engage with their customers, solidifying existing relationships and identifying new potential business for their hotels worldwide.
The 5-day activity saw the team started off this morning from Le Meridien Al Sondos Suites, located next to the iconic and recently launched Dubai Metro, racing against time to reach their destinations and covering as many appointments as possible.
The participating hotels include Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort & Towers, Sheraton Deira Hotel, Le Meridien Al Sondos Suites, Four Points by Sheraton properties in Sheikh Zayed Road, Downtown and Bur Dubai.
The blitz will see not only the sales teams but also key personnel from each of the participating hotels including senior management, revenue managers, chefs and outlet managers, set out on various modes of transportation to meet their customers, each with a story to tell about their own hotels, restaurants and services as well as cross selling all the hotel brands under Starwood which include St. Regis®, The Luxury Collection®, W®, Westin®, Le M
