Starwood Hotels and Resorts is targeting 100 operational and signed hotels by the end of 2015.
The company’s regional director of sales for South Asia, Dhananjay S. Saliankar, told visitors to the Starwood Expo in Delhi on 23 April that the US hotel company is planning to expand across the country, but with a focus on the country’s emerging second tier cities. The group currently operates 41 properties under various brands.
In addition, Starwood is expanding its support structure in India, with a new sales office set to open in Ahmedabad next month. The group will continue to drive growth from Delhi and Mumbai, while more business would be generated from new areas like Gujarat and Kolkata.
