Starwood reveals major expansion plans in Middle East

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has confirmed plans to open 50 new hotels in Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) by 2012. The company has earmarked new Sheraton hotels in locations including Georgia (Sheraton Batumi, Spring 2010), Greece (Sheraton Rhodes, Spring 2010) and Italy (Sheraton Milan Malpensa, Summer 2010).Starwood’s W Hotel chain will establish new premises in London, St. Petersburg, Paris, Milan and Amman. Meanwhile, Aloft Hotels - the new, design-led, mid-market brand inspired by W - will make its debut in Belgium this autumn with the Aloft Brussels Schumann.
