Jet Airways has formed a new frequent flyer partnership with Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), the loyalty programme of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
The new partnership will allow members of the SPG programme to earn points when flying with Jet Airways, and miles while staying at Starwood hotels.
“SPG Membership in India is growing exponentially with more than 250% growth over the last five years. As membership in India grows, it’s important that we’re giving our members more selection and more ways to earn and redeem their valuable Starpoints,” said Irene Lin, director of distribution, loyalty & partnerships for Starwood Asia Pacific.
“This newly-inked milestone partnership with JetPrivilege, the frequent flyer program of Jet Airways adds to our growing list of airline partners, providing SPG members greater redemption options with their Starpoints.”
The new arrangement will enable SPG members to earn JetPrivilege’s JPMiles for their stays at more than 1,200 Starwood properties worldwide. SPG members will also be able to transfer existing Starpoints to JPMiles, and 5,000 bonus JPMiles are being offered whenever SPG members transfer 20,000 Starpoints.
“We are delighted to partner with JetPrivilege to enrich the travel experience for our ever growing base of SPG members in India,” said Dilip Puri, Starwood’s managing director for India and regional vice president for South Asia.
“Aviation and hospitality go hand in hand, as more and more Indians are travelling to places. Given our strong footprint of 40 hotels currently operating in India and a robust pipeline of 35 hotels under development, this collaboration is strategically important as India rises to be one of the world’s fastest growing markets for domestic and outbound travel,” he added.
SPG now has more than 30 airline partners across the globe, including Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways, Lufthansa and British Airways.
