Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed its second new Four Points hotel in Sydney in the space of a month.
Following a deal penned earlier in June for the 297-room Four Points by Sheraton Sydney Central Park, the hotel group has now sealed a management contract for the 271-room Four Points by Sheraton Parramatta.
Scheduled to open in 2018, the new-build hotel will be located on George Street in the centre of Parramatta, close to the Westfield shopping centre. The property will feature a restaurant, bar, a lobby lounge with snack kiosk, an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and 500m² of conference and banqueting space.
“With the current growth and development in Parramatta, Sydney’s second largest work district, the location was a natural choice for our next Four Points by Sheraton hotel,” said Sean Hunt, Starwood’s regional vice president for the Pacific.
“The brand’s strong Pacific presence, which includes hotels in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane and a new flagship property in Melbourne opening in 2017, is reflective of its growth globally, with Four Points leading pipeline development in Starwood’s portfolio.”
Four Points has an established hotel brand in Sydney, but it was recently announced that the existing Four Points at Darling Harbour will be rebranded as a Hyatt later this year. Starwood has moved quickly to replace this however, with the signing of the two new-build hotels, both of which are scheduled to open in 2018.
Starwood also currently operates Four Points hotels in Brisbane and Perth.
