Serviced apartment and aparthotel operator Staycity has been inducted into the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame, having won a Certificate of Excellence award for its Birmingham (Arcadian Centre) and Dublin (Saint Augustine Street) locations for five consecutive years.
Commenting on the achievement, Staycity chief operating officer Keith Freeman said: “We are delighted to have been recognised in this way by the world’s biggest travel site. It’s a great reflection on the work the teams in both Birmingham and Dublin are doing on customer service and demonstrates how committed we are as a company to providing a world-class offer.”
TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence awards were launched in 2000 to celebrate hospitality excellence. To qualify businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
Of the total winners this year, only 9% have qualified for the Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame by winning the award five years running.
Staycity operates more than 1,000 apartments in eight European cities including Birmingham, Dublin, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London Heathrow, London Greenwich, Manchester, Paris and Amsterdam.
This year it will open a 172-apartment Staycity in Newhall Square Birmingham and a 144-apartment building in Lyon, France.
In 2016, Staycity will open in Manchester (Piccadilly), Marseille, London Covent Garden, London Heathrow and York. The company aims to have 10,000 units by 2020.
